Health Checks
These checks are done with your pet’s annual vaccination. Dogs and cats age quicker than we do, thus we advise regular checks to detect disease in their early stages.
Dentistry
Dental care for your pet is extremely important. Plaque build up can lead to gingivitis and periodontal disease. Periodontal disease causes bad breath, tooth loss and damage to internal organs. Dental disease can be detected during your health checks and it may be recommended to schedule a scale and polish for your pet’s teeth.
Orthopedic Surgical Procedures
We offer a range of orthopaedic repairs from internal and external pinning and external fixation and cruciate ligament repair. We also perform a wide range of soft tissue surgical procedure such as spaying, neutering and delicate eye and ear surgery and many more.
Geriatric Care
Pets are considered senior from the age of seven years. Diseases like diabetes, arthritis, heart and kidney conditions, can be detected with your annual vaccination and examination.
Laboratory Diagnostics
Blood tests can reveal early stages of disease, this can be done with your annual wellness check. Our in-clinic laboratory allows us to test for:
- Liver, kidney and pancreas function
- Blood Glucose
- Blood Protein
- Blood Electrolytes
- Urine S.G.
- We also have test kits for Feline aids Virus and Leukemia Virus, Canine Parvo Virus and Canine Distemper Virus.
- Fecal egg counts
- Blood smear evaluation
Our in-house lab allows us to plan a treatment for your pet within 10 minutes.
Radiology and Ultrasonography
Our digital X-ray unit with buggy table provide us with an excellent internal image of your pet’s body. We can diagnose cancer, foreign bodies, fractures, bladder stones, slipped discs and heart and lung abnormalities to name a few. We also take X-rays for hip and elbow dysplasia evaluation. We also perform ultrasounds to diagnose pregnancy and it is also useful in detecting kidney, liver, spleen, bladder and prostate abnormalities.
Reproduction
We offer various services to assist in the process of producing healthy offspring.
- Vaginal smears to detect optimal time of mating
- Artificial insemination
- Pregnancy scan
- Caesarean section (24 hours)
Micro Chipping
A micro-chip is a tiny metal chip which is programmed with an ID number. The micro-chip is implanted under the skin in the left neck area with a needle. The procedure takes a few minutes. Pets with a micro-chip can be scanned and the chip number will reveal the owners information.
